Introduction
The Pilates industry has grown tremendously over the past decade. While that’s exciting for our profession, it also means studio owners face more competition than ever before. New studios are opening, boutique fitness options continue to expand, and clients have endless choices when deciding where to invest their time and money.
So, how do you make your studio stand out?
The answer isn’t about offering the lowest prices or following every fitness trend. The studios that thrive are those that consistently deliver exceptional experiences, invest in education, and create genuine connections with their clients.
Here are five ways to help your Pilates studio rise above the competition.
1. Invest in Exceptional Teacher Education

Your instructors are the heart of your studio. They shape every client experience, inspire confidence, and represent your studio’s values.
Clients may initially walk through your doors because of your location or marketing, but they stay because of the quality of teaching they receive.
Encouraging your team to pursue continuing education keeps their skills current, expands their understanding of movement, and gives them greater confidence when working with a wide range of clients.
At Anita Horry Academy, we believe education is never finished. The best teachers remain lifelong learners, and the best studios create opportunities for their teams to continue growing.
2. Create an Experience, Not Just a Class
People don’t simply remember exercises, they remember how they felt.
Every interaction matters, from the moment someone enquires about your studio to the way they’re welcomed into class. A supportive, professional, and inclusive environment encourages clients to return and recommend your studio to others.
Consistency, personal attention, and genuine care often make a far greater impression than the latest equipment or trends.
3. Build a Strong Reputation Through Expertise

In today’s digital world, clients are looking for studios they can trust.
Sharing educational content, celebrating client achievements, and demonstrating your team’s knowledge helps position your studio as a respected leader in your community.
When people see that your instructors continue to develop professionally and value evidence-informed teaching, they gain confidence in the quality of your services.
Knowledge builds trust, and trust builds long-term relationships.
4. Create Opportunities Beyond Weekly Classes

Many successful studios are expanding beyond their regular timetable by offering workshops, specialised programs, and professional development opportunities.
Hosting teacher training is one of the most rewarding ways to elevate your studio. Not only does it support the growth of the Pilates profession, but it also positions your studio as a centre for education and excellence.
Opening your doors to teacher education creates opportunities for networking, collaboration, and increased visibility within your local Pilates community.
5. Never Stop Growing

The most successful studio owners understand that growth isn’t just about increasing client numbers, it’s about continually improving the quality of what you offer.
As the Pilates industry evolves, so should your knowledge, your teaching, and your vision for your business.
When you invest in education, you invest in your instructors, your clients, and the future of your studio.
Studios that embrace lifelong learning don’t simply keep up with the industry, they help shape it.
