  • We really want to help you get certified and want to make it as simple as possible for you to do so.  If you have problems financing your education, speak to us to see how we can assist with additional finance.  The academy would need to request timely payments, when they are due. Failure to submit full payment when due may result in late penalties, suspension from the programme, or termination, at my discretion.
  • An initial €100 registration fee which will be applied to your programme will be required as part of your application in order to hold your space. Once we enroll you into a programme, a 25% deposit is required.

CONDUCT POLICY

Anita Horry Academy (AHA) prides itself to have had exceptional relationships with its former students and thus does not envisage any situations whereby the school terminates student contracts.  However, in order to safeguard continued progress in all our programmes, it is required to include a contingency clause in our terms as follows.

  • Attendance Requirements: Students are expected to be present for Practice and Classroom at least three (3) days per week. Notification must be given as soon as reasonably practicable if a student is planning to be absent. Absenteeism and/or tardiness for 20% or more of the time constitutes Cause for Dismissal.

  • Additional Grounds for Dismissal:
    • Unsatisfactory progress in the programme
    • Late tuition payment
    • Safety or personal violations, including but not limited to:
      • Reckless behaviours that demonstrate a disregard for safety in the Pilates studio and/or contribute to creating a feeling that the studio is an unsafe or insecure environment
      • Failure to correct misuse of equipment and apparatus, and continued unsafe displays or misapplication of exercises
    • Wilful disregard of important instructions that could reasonably be conceived to result in endangering the Student or others
    • All forms of bias including race, ethnicity, gender, disability, national origin, and creed as well as other forms of obstructive and/or obnoxious behaviour which disrupts proper order

    • Theft or damage to the Studio premises or equipment
    • Being under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances

Course Times

We will contact you a few weeks prior to your course date to confirm the location and times, please allow from 8am-7pm each day until we confirm these with you.

Just so you know, you cannot miss any day of the course or arrive later/leave earlier as there is a lot of content to cover and we want to make sure you get the most out of the course and become an amazing and confident instructor!

Arriving late / leaving early

As just mentioned above, since we operate a tight schedule on the course any missed time, whether part of a day or a full day will not be recuperated. If you need to miss any part of a course, we recommend rescheduling your course to a separate private session outside the course date. Please note there is an additional charge to this which is covered below.

Examinations

All Anita Horry Academy (AHA) Teacher Training Certification courses involve both theory and practical examinations throughout the course.  Both theory and practical exams must be passed with a pass of a minimum of 75% in order to receive certification; this ensures we maintain the highest standard of instructors possible. Obviously, our aim is to help you as much as possible to be the best you can be. At the end of each level, there will be a practical assessment. If you are progressing well through your studies but somehow have not grasped the teaching aspect yet; you will have the opportunity to carry on practising the modules studied and submit a video of yourself teaching for us to review at a later date once you feel more confident.

It is uncommon for this to happen, but if you fail the theory and practical exams and need a lot more study and practice, you will be required to re-sit the next available course and this will incur a resit fee. See below for fees for each course. We want you to succeed and are with you all the way.  Prior to any course, reading the required materials and watching videos and practising further will help you to come into the course as well prepared as possible.

Certification

Upon completion of each course and passing the required final examinations, you will be certified to teach the exercises learned in that course. Please refer to the individual course details.

To date, Anita Horry Academy (AHA) has neither recommended nor dissuaded its graduates from seeking additional certification beyond their Anita Horry Academy (AHA) certification – a certification that is highly regarded within the wellness profession.  Anita Horry Academy (AHA) stands behind its training and certification programs as the highest calibre and most comprehensive of its kind in the industry. To achieve Anita Horry Academy (AHA) certification, students must receive a minimum score of 75% (practical and written) in order to pass.  Pass marks in both the practical and theory sections must be met in order to achieve certification.

The main reason behind accreditation is for insurance purposes which you can receive after completing our courses.

REFUND POLICY

Your success is our commitment and we do understand that things might happen which would hinder your training process with our academy. Whilst we endeavour to be as flexible as we can with the course dates, we are, unfortunately unable to offer any refunds for change of minds or circumstances.

If, however you have exceptional circumstances and wish to apply for a credit, you would need to advise us in writing to admin@anitahorryacademy.com  For the benefit of all parties involved, please note that Anita Horry Academy (AHA) operates under the jurisdiction of the Maltese courts.

In the case that you wish to apply for a credit for the fees already paid, the Credit policy is as follows:

  • If the contract is terminated after the 5th (fifth) business day after signing the contract or making the initial payment, a ‘Registration Fee’ equal to 10 percent of the total tuition fee or €100, whichever is less, is deducted from the credit amount. A “registration fee” is any fee charged by a school to process student applications and establish a student record system.

  • If the contract is terminated within 30 days prior to course commencement date, a credit will be given less the €100 Registration fee, plus 15% of total tuition.

  • If training / contract is terminated before the end of the 3rd calendar month after the student begins their course, (i.e. starts the Modules in class), the student will be charged the registration fee established above, plus 35% of the total tuition.

  • If training / contract is terminated after the 1st day of the 4th calendar month but before the end of the 9th calendar month after the student begins their course (i.e. starts the Modules in class) the student will be charged the registration fee established above, plus 75% of the total tuition.

  • If training / contract is terminated after the 1st day of the 10th calendar month after the student begins their course (i.e. starts the Modules in class) the student will be charged the full course amount.

  • When calculating credits, the official date of a student’s termination is the last day of recorded attendance.

No credit will be given:

  • When the student is terminated for a violation of the Conduct Policy mentioned above which gives grounds for dismissal;
  • When a student, without notice, fails to attend classes for thirty calendar days
  • When the student does not give the Academy notice of termination in writing.

If you have exceptional circumstances whereby you are granted a credit for future use, you will be offered the following:

  • Reschedule your course to a future date. You would need to settle any outstanding fees on your course before you re-commence the programme.
  • You can keep your credit on file until you are ready to complete the course. We will be able to extend your course time by a maximum of 1 year (12 months), after which the credit is lost.

Discontinued Programmes

If the Academy discontinues instruction in any programme after students enter training, students must be notified in writing of such events and are entitled to a pro-rated refund of all tuition and fees paid unless comparable training is arranged for by the school and agreed upon, in writing, by the student. A written request for such a refund must be made within 90 days from the date the program was discontinued, and the refund must be paid within 30 days after receipt of such request.

Cancellation of Courses

In the unfortunate event that course enrolment does not meet the minimum required amount of students, the school reserves the right to cancel a starting course. Such an occurrence will be considered a necessary cancellation by the school and will entitle the student to a full refund of all money paid.

Termination (Expulsion) by the School
