AHA Foundations of Pilates – Breathing

In this first Foundation exercise of Pilates, 2nd Generation Pilates Teacher and Lolita San Miguel Pilates Master, Anita Horry explains the importance of breathing in the Pilates method. By guiding you through a simple, yet immensely effective set of exercises, she will help you understand how the lateral Pilates breath works.

In Pilates, we also choreograph the breath pattern used in the exercises to help recruit the appropriate musculature, to provided rhythm and consistency to the movement patterns and to help focus the mind.
